Busy as Can Be

Again I have gone without updating this page, but I promise I have very good reason. I started a health and fitness blog for school, and all of my writing efforts have been going towards that. I also have been pretty busy with videography projects and other school-related endeavors.

I now have two nannying jobs to make money while going to school, and I absolutely love it. The kids are adorable and the families I work for are extremely nice. I couldn't ask for a better job while going to school, and I'm so thankful to have found them.

In other good news, one of my best friends is moving to Arizona in December and I am so excited! It will be nice to have somebody from back home so close, especially because she knows me sometimes better than I know myself.

I plan to have more focused posts soon, and not just updates on a ton of things going on in my life. I want to do some restaurant and bar reviews, and also just talk about other fun things I have gotten to do in Arizona.

Until then,
Stacy

Time Flies

I know it has been forever since my last post, but the past couple of months have been extremely crazy. I finished up my first year at Arizona State and my CBS internship, traveled to Italy, turned 23, and have been enjoying my summer. Lots of things going on & I just haven't found the time to write until now.

I can't believe it has already been a year since I moved to Phoenix. So much has happened, but it also seems like yesterday that I packed up all of my things and made the trip there to start a new adventure. An adventure it has definitely been, a crazy but amazing one. I have made some great new friends, and also kept in touch with all of my wonderful friends from San Diego. My roommate and I signed our lease for another 11 months (she graduates next May!) and I'm excited to stay in my apartment, because it really does feel like home now.

Italy was an amazing experience and I feel so blessed to have spent my Birthday there with my dad and lots of good friends! I have been enjoying some free time in San Diego before I have to go back to the desert and start my next semester at ASU.

Life gets crazy hectic sometimes, but as I'm getting older I am learning what is truly important and I am so grateful for that.

I will be updating soon!

Until next time,
Stacy

Celebrating 80 Years

This weekend we celebrated my Grandma's 80th Birthday. I love going to Texas to see my relatives and catch up on everyone's lives. Sometimes Facebook and Twitter is just not enough.

My grandparents are in such great shape for their age and they are a real inspiration. They've also been married for 63 years which is incredible in itself.

Here are some pictures from this weekend!

Memory Loss

I finally saw The Vow last night, and it was good in the sense that it made me cry. I'm a sucker for sappy love movies that make me cry and make me go "aww". That's about as lovey dovey as I get. That's not the part of the movie that stuck with me though, it was the part where Rachel McAdams' character loses part of her memory. Sorry if you haven't seen it yet, but I'm sure you gathered that information from the preview, or you're just an idiot.

Her character wakes up after an accident and forgets a huge chunk of her life, and goes back to being the person she was a few years prior. This got me thinking, what if I lost my memory right now and woke up feeling like the person I was a few years ago. Sometimes we forget how far we've really come, and how much we have changed. I even feel like I've changed in the past six months, which is crazy to think about. The past couple of weeks have been rough, and I have been negative about where I am in my life. When put into perspective though, I have come so far from where I was a couple years ago, and for that I am so thankful. Sometimes it's hard to think about all of the people who are no longer part of our lives, but we have to remember that we outgrew them. Some people aren't meant to be apart of our whole journey, but just a small part to help propel us into the person we are supposed to be.

You will always have more growing up to do, everyone does, but when you start feeling bad about where you are in your life or with certain things, just remember where you've been and reflect on how far you've come. After all, life is about the journey, not an end result.

Update Time

I got an iPhone so now I can post on here straight from my phone! Technology is getting so out of control in a good way.

It's finally February and I am so happy. January seemed to drag on forever and a day. School is in full swing and making me busier than ever, just like right now I should be reading for class tomorrow (or sleeping) but I am updating this thing. I absolutely love my internship and I am learning so much about the industry.

I am currently working on securing a broadcast internship in San Diego for the summer. Then I can be home with my family and friends but still be working towards my future.

I can already tell 2012 is going to be an amazing year and I'm excited to see what February brings to the table.

Spring Semester

Spring semester is already here and I feel like winter break had just started. I'm excited for this semester and all of the opportunities I have gotten. Let's see where it takes me! If I don't write too much this semester it is because I am super busy with school and my internship. I will write as much as I can though!
